One record, three answers.
Every GasID holds the same set of answers, in the same format — that is what makes the network checkable by anyone.
- How much emission was reduced
- The outcome in metric tons of CO₂e, measured against the landfill disposal baseline.
- How the reduction happened
- The reduction is delivered by preventing methane at the source — that is how biological treatment produces it.
- Where the material came from
- The MassIDs behind the certificate, with each batch's chain of custody.

Position in the cycle
Where the GasID fits.
Five contract families cover the path from the material to the attribution of the outcome, across four stages. Each record points back to the one before it.
- 01
Record
The batch of material is verified and enters the network as a permanent record.
- 02
Certification
The reduction or the recycling is certified under an active methodology, and the credit is issued.
- GasID
- RecycledID
- 03
Purchase
The credit purchase becomes a public record, tied to the certificates it came from.
- 04
Registration
The credit leaves circulation and the environmental outcome is attributed for good.
Methodology
What backs the figure.
A GasID is only issued once the MassIDs clear every rule of an active methodology. The methodology defines the calculation — the contract does not.
BOLD Carbon (CH₄)
Methane reduction (CO₂e) through composting of organic waste that would otherwise have gone to landfill.
- CO₂e reduced on the network
- 6,687 t
- Credit issued
- C-CARB.CH4
- Methodology version
- 1.0.2
This GasID backs C-CARB.CH4
Every GasID that clears the BOLD Carbon (CH₄) methodology issues C-CARB.CH4 credits — the carbon credit from methane reduction. Its own page explains what the unit means, how it is issued, and where it can be checked.
